Vitae - Wellbeing Services
There are times in all our lives when we encounter personal problems or life crises. Your Association wants to support you through personal and work-related challenges, by providing access to Vitae’s FREE and confidential services.
About Vitae – Anei mātou o Vitae
Vitae is a professional workplace wellbeing provider that offers access to a nationwide team of independent counsellors, psychologists, trauma responders and more, all with a minimum five years of clinical practice.
You can search for a counsellor in your area or someone who suits your needs or complete the online booking form and a counsellor will be assigned to you.
Counselling service – Tari whakapakari ngākau
The clinical teams come from a wide range of backgrounds, with over 20 languages spoken and a vast range of specialist areas. You are in safe and qualified hands, with escalation processes in place and case management where required for complex situations.
Support is available in person, by phone or online (Zoom) – with a 24/7 contact centre and duty counsellor for urgent needs.
The NZVA and VCNZ fund three confidential counselling sessions per year for all veterinarians.
Critical incident support – Rātonga tiakiwairua
In the event of a serious workplace or personal incident, Vitae’s team of trained responders may be mobilised to provide immediate post-incident support.
Manager support
Supporting people isn't always straightforward and it's not often easy. The manager helpline and manager assist service helps leaders with practitioners given them practical support to deal with difficult situations and finding a pathway that will work for their organisation. Vitae will co-create the support you and your people are needing, when you need it.
Article library
There are a number of wellbeing articles and tip sheets accessible on the Vitae website.
Wellbeing workshops
Experienced facilitators can deliver 1-2 hour workshops to your team at your workplace. The content is clinically based with practical skills and strategies applied. Working in partnership with your people and culture/human resources team, content can be adapted to meet the specific needs of your organisation.
Workshops are capped at 15 participants to maximise individual engagement with activities and to enhance a sense of confidentiality and safety in the workshop space. By arrangement these sessions can be offered in a virtual (Zoom) format.
